STRI was founded in 1964. It is the only comprehensive applied research institute in China’s shipbuilding industry dedicated to the modernization of shipbuilding technologies.The institute focuses on eight major technical disciplines, including general design, welding, coating, composite materials, non-destructive testing, information technology and safety technology. Its business covers four major segments: intelligent equipment, industrial software, material application and non-destructive testing.
