Our research team employs melamine sponge as the substrate to synthesize superhydrophobic flame-retardant sponges via chemical modification. The as-synthesized material not only possesses high nitrogen content, thereby retaining flame-retardant performance, but also exhibits excellent thermal stability, solvent resistance, and other desirable properties.
