When a surface vessel encounters a danger, the crew can use the Beidou satellite positioning beacon for remote alarm, positioning, and message communication. The Beidou positioning beacon also provides a blank flashing light positioning function for sea pairs, which can be used by search and rescue personnel for close range search and rescue within line of sight.
