Shanxi Xinhua Chemical Defense Equipment Research Institute Co., Ltd. is affiliated to China North Industries Group Corporation. It is one of the 156 key projects aided by the former Soviet Union during the "First Five-Year Plan" period. Founded in 1953, it is the only "dual military-preserved" unit in China that retains both military research and production capabilities. It is a key enterprise in the national chemical defense equipment research and development and manufacturing sector, and possesses the National Gas Mask and Collective Protection Equipment Mobilization Center, the National Defense Science and Technology Industry Chemical Defense Professional Metrology Station, the "National Enterprise Technology Center", the "National Postdoctoral Research Workstation", and the "Academician Workstation". It is the only key enterprise in the emergency industry in Shanxi Province approved by the state, and is among the top 500 chemical enterprises in China, the top 50 labor protection equipment enterprises in China, and a 3A-level credit enterprise in China.
